Our outdoor adventure series, Wilderness Adventures
Off The Beaten Path, is the only outdoor adventure series
completely shot on location in Alaska. It is not documentary footage.
It's not the same old stuff. You've never seen this before. It
is a "try this" show that features one woman
trying many exciting adventures throughout Alaska's vast wilderness.
Not an expert.
From trekking to the top of Alaska and touching
the Arctic ocean, to rafting from a glacier's edge to the Pacific
ocean in Alaska's southeast, we show the viewer how much adventure
there is in Alaska.
Best of all, it's not an "extreme"
show either. These are adventures that nearly anyone can take.
Viewers don't need to be extreme athletes to go ice climbing and
we prove it. You don't need to be in top physical condition to
backpack in the shadow of Mount McKinley in the Denali National
Park and Preserve. Our series shows that you just need the desire
to do it and a little bit of information. We provide that information.
Our series features the following adventures:
River Rafting Our "Source to Sea" adventure begins at the melting edge of the Kennicott Glacier and follows those very waters to the Pacific Ocean, eight days later. After encountering 90 degree sun and silt, days of near-freezing rain might not be what you expect, unless you live in Alaska.
Native River Journey takes
a closer look at the many inhabitants along the majestic
Yukon river,
many of them living to day as they did hundreds of years ago.
Led by an Athabaskan Native, we meet Roy Folger, and later, Georjeana
Wallace. We see the sheds where they smoke their fish and meet
their dogs.
Horsepack Trailing We try our hand at the same tasks that the early Alaskan gold rush prospectors lived with. We ride through beautiful vistas, try our hand at gold panning, have a real Alaskan dinner (moose meat, et al) and finish our ride at the edge of the Yukon River.
Ice Climbing Ultima Thule and St. Ellias Alpine Guides are our experts in this informative show where we climb two different glaciers in the Wrangell St. Ellias Mountains. We learn the basics of our ice tools and navigate up sheer walls of ice.
Backcountry Camping Our host and an Athabaskan Native, Melanie Anastasia Brown, show us various kinds of terrain you can encounter nearly anywhere in Alaska when they try their hand at a little adventure, 120 miles above the Arctic Circle.
Exploring Denali This show takes viewers down the 90-mile Denali National Park & Preserve road. From the Visitor's Center to the Wonder Lake campground at the foot of Mount McKinley, we show you what's available, and what's not, so anyone can have a good time.
Dogsledding Try your hand at traveling as native Alaskan did, and still do, today. Dogsledding legend Susan Butcher shows us the "jee's" and "haw's" of how to get the dogs to take you where you want to go.
Dalton Highway We travel up this grueling road, just recently opened to public traffic. Following the pipeline, there is very little in the way of creature comforts, but much in the way of unexpected surprises and untamed wildlife.
Glacier Skiing With a man who has scaled Everest as our guide, we ski up a mountain to take in the challenges and vistas that the Wrangell Mountains have to offer. Simple in theory, much more difficult in practice.
Our series has received serious interest by KAKM
in Anchorage Alaska (PBS). KAKM not only wants to air our series
immediately but they will be the presenting station to PBS Net.
This allows PBS stations across the country to pick it up and
air it. There is no charge for the stations to air the show...
but they must leave the tags we place at the end of the show intact.
In addition, we offer tapes to the viewers through an "800"
number.
We have also had interest by Outdoor Life,
a new cable network appearing in more and more markets nationally.
Outdoor Life will give our partners in this production immediate
national exposure in the millions of viewers. With these multiple
international venues, your product or service will gain an immediate
association with one of the premier outdoor experiences ever taped.
We are not a large corporation with a huge
production staff. You may be surprised at the price points available
to achieve incredible exposure opportunities. Do not let the big
companies grab all the exposure opportunities.
